Singer-songwriter Danny Michel‘s love affair with Belize continues.
Black Birds Are Dancing Over Me, due Sept. 18, is his second album recorded in the Central American country — 2011′s Sunset Sea was the first — and the part-time Ontario resident recently set up a scholarship fund for high school students on an island off the coast of Belize.
Michel will perform Friday, Nov. 9 at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert. Other Canadian staples lined up for the venue’s 2012-2013 Main Stage Series include:

A few weeks after his Arden appearance, Colin Linden will perform Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Winspear Centre with his roots-rock trio, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, also starring Stephen Fearing and Tom Wilson.
