The Milk Carton Kids: Folk duo Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale have been likened to Simon & Garfunkel with a country twang, presenting a gimmick-free, stripped-down style built around their melancholy vocal harmonies. Fresh off a stint opening for Jason Isbell, the Kids appear at the Winspear with a full band in tow to help expand the sound, touring in support of their vaguely titled fifth album, All the Things That I Did and All the Things That I Didn’t Do.
Details: 8 p.m. Winspear Centre, $37 and up, available at the door or in advance from the Winspear website
Ten Foot Pole: Formed in 1983 under the name Scared Straight (which was changed in 1993 to shed their straight-edge reputation and any baggage that came with it) the punk rock mainstays bring their thrash-inducing sound to The Buckingham. Ten Foot Pole’s lineup has also shifted over the years, with current frontman Dennis Jagard leading a raucous set of longtime favourites and new additions. Lift up any fallen pitmates, and get there early to catch local hardcore acts Vibes and Bogue Brigade.

Hank Williams — The Lonesome Tour: The legendary country crooner died in 1953, nine months shy of his 30th birthday, but Jason Petty pays tribute to Hank Williams with a show that has graced stages around the world — including Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium — and makes its way to the Arden Theatre Tuesday evening. Lean and lanky, Petty bears an uncanny resemblance to the country icon, mixing stories in with the songs and some spot-on yodelling.
